The Bible Unleashed
Unpacking the Bible for what it is: the Word of God, written to a specific people in a specific time and place, for the benefit of all believers throughout time.
This site is a personal project, a commentary based on my own theological convictions and interests. What are those convictions? I am amillennial in my eschatology and I am traditional in my soteriology, which is to say I am not a Calvinist.
In my experience, it is very easy to find commentaries which use Calvinist and dispensational presuppositions and hermeneutics, but it is much rarer to find a commentary that matches my particular convictions.
Moreover, I believe there is a supernatural element to the Bible, and therefore the world we live in, that has been obscured or even erased by the theological traditions man has developed over the centuries. Often times these traditions were pushback against injustices of the time, so they were reactionary in nature. I believe the reactionary nature of these traditions, while they have sustained believers throughout the millennia through different struggles the church faced, we should look at the Bible through the lens of the Bible and not our traditions.
I seek to compile a commentary that addresses the supernatural worldview presented in the Bible and reveals it to a broad audience, so that the Christian community might have a comprehensive understanding of the full depth and breadth of Scripture, aside from theological tradition.
Additionally, I am a biblical counselor, so I am including counseling implications and resources in my commentaries. As these commentaries are built out, each verse can carry tags for easy reference.
Check back as study allows. I hope you find it useful.
